March 30, 2003: Melanie Mays will give a demonstration at Knitting Hands of the Old Fashioned Knitting Boards on Sunday, March 30. She says:  "The time is set for 1pm and it will go until Wayne kicks us out! There will be different levels of ability attending, as usual. Some kids as well--minimum age 6. I'll probably work with people as they show up. It will probably be an informal demonstration! I'll have samples of the some of the stitches and items you can make on the board, as well as some patterns for you."

March 29-30, 2003: Ewephoric Weekend - March 29-30, 2003 at the Wool Connection in Avon, CT (near Hartford).  This is billed as a Knitters weekend, but Margaret Hubert will be teaching Free Form Crochet and two others.  Melissa Leapman will also be offering three classes, one of which is Pattern Drafting and good for both crocheters and knitters.  Contact them at www.woolconnection.com or 1-860-678-1710

May 28, 2003: Arnetta Kenney (our CIP instructor) will be teaching a six-week class at the Fashion Institute of Technology called Crochet for Pleasure beginning Wednesday, May 28, 2003. June 14, 2003: Arlene Mintzer will teach a six-hour Creative Knitted and Crocheted Textiles Workshop. The aim is to create a piece of beautiful fabric using favorite yarns and other unique materials such as bamboo, paper, silk, stainless steel, etc.. and any technique you love and want to explore more. Create a piece of beautiful fabric without a purpose. This is fabric making as a creative and joyful experience. Students need to have a good basic knowledge of knitting and/or crocheting. June 20-22, 2003: Arnetta Kenney  will be be offering a three-day advanced Crochet Design Workshop at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). Explore numerous creative possibilities and learn how to create a one of a kind crochet garmet or artwork by incorporating Irish crochet motifs, bead crochet, tapestry crochet, textural crochet stiches and more into your design.  Then, develop solutions for completing your piece with the appropriate buttons, trims, or embellishments.  Weekend includes all of the above-mentioned techniques as well as advanced skills for those who can work at the highest levels.  Special attention to the art of the design process and elevation of styling is stressed.

August 10, 2003Margaret Hubert will teach a class in assembling free form pieces at The Yarn and Craft Box in Pawling, NY on August 10th. . Learn how to assemble all your scrumbles into a garment, purse or whatever. You will need a bag full of scrumbles, a sweatshirt, or some heavy-duty inter-facing, matching thread, some extra yarn, needle, scissors, etc. to help with the construction.
