Demonstrating Crochet at Downtown Yarns

For National Crochet Week, Jo Ann Segreto and Barbara Hillery were welcomed to do demonstrations by Rita Bobry, owner of Downtown Yarns (at 45 Avenue A, NYC, 212 995-5991).  We found the store, starting with the screen door and quilt in the window, to be very welcoming.  Jo Ann and I taught seven students (Willena stopped by just in time to teach an eighth), handed out flyers, showed a variety of crocheted items, including stitch of the month squares, and generally spread the word.  We have already received several calls and emails as a result.  It was a fun, successful weekend, and the Guild is invited back for a repeat performance!
