Our Anniversary Meeting - March

Since many of you were kept away from our anniversary meeting by the nasty weather, here is a quick summary:

It was a comparatively subdued meeting, but a wonderful, warm 2nd anniversary. Lots of people brought munchies, including Mary who brought her wonderful pistachio cake--thank you all very much.
Melanie Mays talked about a wonderful fundraising idea for the future-it will be discussed again at the April meeting.

We learned the lobster stitch cord and made beaded amulet bags edged with frothy, fizzy fun yarns. Thanks to Barbara Wane who donated pony beads, Yvonne, Jo Ann and Willena who shopped for supplies, and Mary and Yvonne who made samples and taught the stitch and bag patterns. Many of us didn't have time to finish but took home supplies.

There were  door prizes -- 4 lots of yarn, a Guild tee shirt (won by Patricia Williams), a beautiful pillow made and donated by Willena (won by Janet Wilson) and the cardigan that Willena will make out of the 3-inch squares some of us brought, as per her newsletter challenge (won by Jo Ann). Feel free to bring more squares to the April meeting.

Lily brought some of the song adaptations that she sang with the Crochettes at Chain Link 2002 (they're already scheduled for another appearance at Chain Link 2003) and we all had fun singing old favorites like "Come Buy Yarn, My Friend" to the tune of Kumbaya. Lily says she'll share the lyrics with us in a future newsletter.
