Position Paper for Second VP: Mary DuBois

I'm Mary, 2nd Vice President of the New York City Crochet Guild, Inc. Crocheting has always been a part of my life, my Mom and Aunts were avid crocheters and knitters. As a small child I got started with making finger chains, which would be hung out of our tenement building window, to see how long I could make them. I then graduated to making afghans, baby blankets, booties, hats, among other items. The extreme satisfaction of completing a crocheted pattern and experiencing the appreciation when it is given as a gift makes my fingers want to do more.

Since joining the Guild, as well as being a Crochet Guild of America (CGOA) member, I've experienced the pleasure of teaching others the joy of crocheting as well as learning new facets of this art form from talented designers who are also members. Crocheting is a never-ending learning experience and I would love to continue being the instrument of this endeavor as 2nd Vice President for calendar year 2003-2004.
