NYC Crochet Guild
I'm Yvonne (aka BklynVonne), current First Vice President; running for President.
Barbara found me 'online' and invited me to a 'meeting'. I went, and joined the guild shortly after its inception in 2001. Along with having my own online crochet group (http://groups.msn.com/VonsCrochetCyberspace), and co-monitoring the guild's Yahoo! group with Barbara, I've tried to find sources of crochet supplies and helpful information on the vast variety of techniques.
Since I've been with the guild, I've worked the Welcome Desk (providing general information, etc.), and run the Resource Center (Library)(with patterns/books donated by and available to members for borrowing). As First Vice President, I was responsible for membership applications and records. Having recently taken the Certified Instructor's Program Workshop so I could learn to teach, one of my goals for the guild would be to focus more effort on the basics and introducing more beginners to our wonderful hobby.
As for personal goals, I've designed some patterns, and plan to self-publish in the near future. Most importantly, I look forward to the opportunity to serve as your next President. TaBoG! (Thanks a Bunch of Grapes!)
