June 5th, 2003 Meeting

Sheila Meyer, proprietor of One World Buttons, will be the guest speaker.

06/05/2003 Meeting Program

  • Sheila Meyer, proprietor of One World Button Supply Co., will be the guest speaker at our June 5th meeting. She will talk about the NGO groups she works with in supporting indigenous artisans around the world, the traditional crafts inspiration and the unique sustainable materials used in the button designs. She sells only to retailers and designers, so this is a nice opportunity for us. If you would like to learn more about her company, you can see the website at: http://www.oneworldbuttons.com/community.php
  • Stitch of the Month: Bring worsted weight yarn in a medium/light color and an H, I or J Hook. We will learn the waffle-like stitch that Mary brought in a blanket she showed at last month's meeting.
Please note: We are reinstituting the practice of asking everyone to bring a square made with the previous stitch of the month to each meeting. From these squares we can make wheelchair totes, blankets, hats, etc. for our charity donations. They can be 12" x 12", 6"x 6", 7" x 7" or 9" x 7".
