There is a very special yarn store in Woodstock, called the Yarn Shoppe. There is an incredible amount of specialty yarns as well as books and magazines related to fiber arts that are not often seen in one place. Yarns are arranged by color, making for a wonderful rainbow of our favorite things!
Since we didn't have a retreat this year, we thought it would be nice to have a day trip outside the City. Woodstock is a lovely town, very artsy, lots of crafts and galleries-not to mention a blast from the past--the 60's are alive and well in Woodstock!
Yarn Shoppe proprietor Emily has invited us to visit and we thought we'd make a day of it. We will have a 20% discount for the day and a 3-hour (more or less) workshop on how to make a crocheted basket using tapestry crochet. The workshop will be $25 per person--we need a minimum of 12 registrants to hold it.
Thanks to Claire Brenner for agreeing to take care of the bus arrangements for this trip. The bus will pick us up from and return us to Manhattan and will cost $50 per person. It's about a three-hour ride each way and we need a minimum of 20 people. Registration will take place at the June 5th meeting. If you would like to participate in this trip and will not be at the June meeting, please be sure to mail your registration to the Guild PO Box, and/or contact Barbara. (If we do not have enough registrants by June 6th, the trip will have to be cancelled.)
