Charity Thank You's and Updates

  1. From the Happily Hooked on Crochet Club, the CT chapter of the CGOA, sent on beautiful custom-made stationery with a crochet-wearing Barbie:

    Dear Members of the NYCCG,

On behalf of all the HHCC members, I’d like to thank you for coming to our aid with preemie afghans, squares and supplies when w found out our backup supply we had for the Danbury Hospital went MIA.

Your generosity touched our hearts and helped us make our goal. Thank you!

    Sincerely,

    Dee Stanziano, President

  2. Linda Gerstein is working with "Heschel Warms Up Dorot" to make blankets for the Homelessness Prevention Program. Sixteen 7" x 9" rectangles will make one lap throw. To donate squares or blankets to Dorot's Homelessness Prevention Program, send them to: Linda Gerstein, 440 West End Ave., 14E, NY NY 10024.

  3. Kathy Keane is crocheting hats for the homeless at St. Christopher's Inn in Garrison, NY. Her goal is to have 150 hats by September, and so she will happily accept your contributions. Hats should be 20" round and 42 rounds long (rounds 38-42 are the border) using any 4 ply worsted yarn in colors that are good for guys. Size: Should be 8-1/2" to 9" deep, to come down over the ears, and stretch to fit 22-25 inches in circumference.

  4. Ellen Bowrosen crochets small bits of yarn into circles (like granny’s daughters) and sends them to be assembled into blankets and other charity items. She is happy to receive any donation of yarn, no matter how small.
