Knit-Out Crochet 2003

Barbara Hillery:
I think for our Guild this year’s Knit-Out, Crochet was a huge success. Our table looked exciting and energetic. We had enough of our beautiful bookmarks and hand-outs in general (we learned from last year!). We had our banner and group afghans as well as an incredible variety of individual items displayed. We received over 80 names interested in our calendar and well over 100 interested in learning more about our guild.

The other areas for which we were responsible went well, too. Teaching seemed to go very smoothly—there were lines most of the day, but they moved and never got too long. The Crochet Doctor was staffed all day. The demos were well attended.

I cannot thank you all enough. Those of you who lent items to display, those of you who were there when you said you’d be and worked hard while you were there, those of you who stayed longer than you said you would and those of you who took on key organizing tasks, in particular Mary DuBois, Willena Nanton, Lynne Casalta, Anna Morgan, Jo Ann Segreto (and of course I apologize if I left anyone out). Many thanks to you all for a very successful Knit-Out and a wonderful day!

Mary DuBois:
I want to take this opportunity to give a heartfelt thank you to all the members who participated in the making of the motifs and the assembly (stamping, gluing, labeling) of the bookmarks -- we had over 1,000 ready for the 10/21 Knit-Out and we have 232 bookmarks remaining. Great Job Everyone -- keep making motifs (when time allows) so we're well on the bookmark road for 2004.

Our bookmark is a big hit with my beautician, who also is a minister - he wants us to make 600 bookmarks which he'll distribute to his parishioners January or February 2004 and he's paying us $.10 a bookmark -- all that's needed is to glue the motif to a blank card.
