From the President

It’s the day before Thanksgiving and so of course, I think about things that make me thankful. While I am grateful to have crochet in my life, with its soothing and creative properties, I am most grateful for the people it has led me to. It seems I am always meeting new crocheters who are generous, creative and just plain fun to be around.

For me, our 2004 Crochet Calendar really exemplifies how well we work together. In previous newsletters, I have thanked Melanie, Willena and Meredith for the huge roles they played in this project, but now I’d like to mention Jo Ann Segreto, who approached yarn stores for sponsorship and who, with Anna Morgan and Mary DuBois, are now asking yarn stores to carry our calendar (we have at least four yarn stores selling our calendar). A thank you also goes to those who contributed props for the photo shoot as well as those who are selling calendars to their friends and colleagues. Most importantly though, I’d like to thank the designers who came up with such beautiful patterns, took the time to write them down and now are lending their “offspring” to the NYCCG for the year.

When I think of how many of you did your part to make this a success, I feel very lucky to be among you. Thank you all. We have a calendar to be proud of, not just for 2004, but forever.
