Willena's Corner

1. Xenobia Bailey’s exhibit was wonderful. After seeing her work in various magazines over the years, it was amazing to view it in person. The exhibit showed wall displays, which contained small and large circles with lots of beadwork, and tapestry and single crochet with plenty of color. I was glad that I made the trip and one other person joined me for a fun day. Afterwards, we went to visit the new yarn store Knit NY, which is located on 14th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues. It is a yarn store and café. They have several tables and it was nice to be able to sit in a yarn store and eat.

2. Crochet Sightings:
a. Teddy Bear and Friends - Jan/Feb issue. This magazine has an article on Teddy Bear designers that crochet teddy bears. It is amazing that a few years ago, you would have not been able to find any featured article on designers that make crochet teddy bears.
b. Glamour Magazine- Feb 2003 issue. The cover features a model wearing a crocheted top.
