Get your original designs ready for the 2005 Calendar contest to be held on June 3rd. Have your written pattern ready as well. If you need help, contact a board member.
The photo shoot has been changed: it will take place on Saturday, June 5 (yes, the same day as Noreen’s workshops—it couldn’t be helped.).
We really could use some help with transportation on the day of the shoot. We need to transport our photographer, Quinn, his equipment and possibly a couple of models from Quinn's studio downtown Brooklyn to 333 E. 23rd Street and back. We hope the shoot will be finished by 5 pm at the latest.
If you have a car and would like to volunteer your services, please let me know as soon as possible. If we don't get volunteers, the Guild will have to spend money on a car service and/or cabs. Please let me know if you can do all or part of this and I (or Barbara) will give you more details.
IMPORTANT NEWS: The cover shot will be a group shot of as many Guild members as possible — so please come for this — it won’t take long. This will be at 333 E 23rd St in the plaza outside the workshop space. This way those taking workshops can participate. Guild members should start assembling at 12:30 pm for a 1 p.m. shoot. Please bring yarn bags, yarn, crochet hook, project you are working on (in any stage) or start one, campstool if you can't sit on the ground. Please don't wear wild patterns or neon colors. Pastels and earth tones are best. Jeans are fine, as are skirts. The look is casual. No logos. No short shorts. Keep away from bright red, black, plaids, and striped blouses. The idea is urban crocheters crocheting in the urban "park". You don't have to have entered a project to be in the photo. It should represent the Guild.
We still need props for the photo shoot. I'll provide a prop list after we hold the contest. We only ask that you help us get it to the photo shoot on June 5th.
We need people to volunteer to pattern check the articles! If you can pattern check just one item, that's a big help. Please let Barbara Hillery or me know as soon as possible if you can help out this way.
