NYC Crochet Guild
The guild is participating in the Crochet hat Chapter Challenge.
This is a challenge to see what guild crochets the most hats for children. Please bring in your hats to the next meeting. If everyone would crochet at least two hats, we have a chance of winning.
I have included patterns below to be used or you can use your own pattern.
PATTERN 1:
Beginning chain: Ch2
Round 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook, Place five sc in same chain. (6)(Do not join) You will work around the stitches of the previous round.
Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12)
Round 3: Sc in first sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next.
Repeat bold 5x. (18)
Round 4: Sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (24)
Round 5: Sc in first 3 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (30)
Round 6: Sc in first 4 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (36)
Round 7: Sc in first 5 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (42)
Round 8: Sc in first 6 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 6 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (48)
Round 9: Sc in first 7 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (54)
Round 10: Sc in first 8 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (60)
ROUNDS 11 & 12 (OPTIONAL) THESE ROWS WILL MAKE THE CROWN BIGGER
DEPENDING ON WHAT SIZE YOU WANT TO MAKE.
Round 11: Sc in first 9 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (66)
Round 12: Sc in first 10 sc, 2 sc in next. Sc in next 10 sc, 2 sc in next. Repeat bold 5x. (72)
BAND OF HAT:
Sc in each sc around until you reach the desired length of the hat.
Fasten off at the end.
PATTERN 2:
CH 61
ROW 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Sc in each sc across. Ch 1. Turn. Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Ch 3. Turn. Row 3: Skip 1st sc, dc in next sc and each sc across. Ch 1. Turn. Row 4: Sc in each dc across. Sc in top of Ch 3. Ch 1. Turn. Row 5: Sc in each across. Repeat Rows 2-5 until desired length. Fasten off at end. Fold the hat in half and crochet/sew the seams close.
