Group would like our Help

Melissa Cohen is the art therapist at the Bowery Residence, transitional housing for mentally ill women, ages 18-70, located on Lafayette St, near Houston. She says the residents have been asking for knitting and crochet lessons for the last 3 weeks. She needs supplies and a teacher. We are hoping for one or two volunteers to go there once to conduct a class for 4 to 6 women from 7-8.30. The Guild has a large enough stash that we will supply yarn for this class. Melissa will accompany the teachers at all times. If you would like to teach this class, please contact Barbara to work out appropriate scheduling. They would also be grateful for any supplies we can offer, so if you have yarn, hooks and/or needles you’d like donate, please contact us.
