Lily Chin says:

It's now official. No one came close to my record in the time trials and the last one was last weekend in IL at Stitches Midwest. Sooo ... I will now defend my title in England sometime around the weekend of Oct 8th. Spread the news and root for me (they will have the "home court" advantage). BTW, I tried beating my own record of 98 dc in 3 minutes. I did better than my winning record of 92.5 dc against the British, doing 93, then 94, then 95.5 dc but did not get to my goal of 100. Will try again .

Linda Gerstein reports that:

  1. Over the summer 28 girls at Westchester Summer Day registered in my crochet elective. I also taught a few staff members how to crochet.
  2. It must have been on DIY network that I saw one of those ten-second celebrity spots where romance novelist Jennifer Crusie said her hobby is crochet.

Anna Morgan and Paula LeGrand noticed:

Articles describing the shuttle that Flying Fingers Yarn Store in Irvington will soon run from 5 locations in Manhattan up to their shop near the Hudson. The shuttle is called the Yarn Bus because it looks like… uh huh, a ball of yarn… won’t that make a great outing!

Anna also gives us the rundown of upcoming craft shows:

Crafts at New Paltz, NY, Sept. 4-6. Lyndhurst, Tarrytown, NY, Sept. 17-19th

Crafts at Rhinebeck, NY, Oct. 2-3

Crafts on Park Ave, 7th Regiment Armory are Oct. 5-7
