From the President

The month of October was a very busy month. We had the Knit-Out Crochet, Stitches East and Rhinebeck’s Sheep and Wool Festival. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help at the Knit Out Crochet, especially those who taught people to crochet and who assisted at the guild table. All the wonderful projects that hung from the guild table were enticing and Barbara’s Williams’ poncho made it to the Lion Brand Website under the Knit Out Crochet 2004.

I did not attend Stitches East, but I did attend the Sheep and Wool Festival. It was great and the table that was selling Plymouth yarn was worth the long wait on line. It was long because there was only one man doing the purchases –his assistant was sick and was unable to make it. I now know which building to go in first for next year’s festival. My other new find was the drop spindle. I found it fascinating watching people spin yarn and I decided that I would try. I chose the least expensive method by getting a drop spindle kit, which included the spindle, roving yarn and instruction booklet. Hopefully, I will have some new yarn to crochet with before next year.
