From the President

March is National Crochet Month and Women’s History Month.

Each of us can celebrate both events together by teaching someone to crochet in honor of the women in the past who have crocheted and helped that art to grow. Remembering people of the past allows you to understand and appreciate how crochet has survived and has finally earned its place on the fashion runways this year. Many magazines have featured crocheted articles in a wide range of styles. They show that the granny square can still be cherished, but crochet fashion for women are now being presented in a wide variety of styles and yarns. Why not create a crochet item for yourself or a friend in honor of the two events we celebrate in March?
