From the President

Summer is here and we have had a taste of some warm weather in June. This is the time of year to experiment with lightweight yarn such as cotton, linen, silk, and bamboo. These yarns are easy to carry for small projects. There are many events this summer that will allow you to crochet and still enjoy the activities. Visit some of these websites to see what is occurring during the summer:

2. From June 16 to July 16 –Midsummer Night Swing. www.Lincolncenter.org

3. Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2005: August 13 - September 4. “A free festival with something for everyone, over 100 different events: world music, internationally acclaimed dance, cutting-edge performances, special events, cool jazz, and fun for kids.” www.Lincolncenter.org

4. Brooklyn Museum- Target First Saturdays. Enjoy free programs of art and entertainment each month after 5 p.m. www.brooklynmuseum.org/first-saturdays 

5. Bryant Park has the summer film and big band series. In addition, the calendar lists various events throughout the day in the next few months. They also have Bryant Park Knits that meets Mondays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. www.bryantpark.org/calendar/jul.php
