We welcome Marsha Davis to our August meeting. Marsha is a professional jewelry instructor specializing in beadwork of all types, including crocheting with beads. She is currently on the faculty of the Jewelry and MetalSmithing Department at the 92nd St. Y Art Center, where she has been teaching since Spring of 2000. She has taught for F.I.T., the American Craft Museum, The American Museum of Natural History, and at the Craft Students League (53rd St Y) from 1994 until its closing early in 2005. Marsha has done workshops for the Bead Society of Greater New York and Beads By Blanche. This summer she will be teaching workshops for Sugar Maples Center for Arts and Education in Hunter, NY.

Marsha learned to crochet from her grandmother and began teaching a 7-week course in bead crochet jewelry about 1-1/2 years ago, designing the pieces specifically for the course. She offers a Bead Crochet Jewelry I and Bead Crochet Jewelry II at the 92nd St Y., and occasionally teaches one day workshops in Bead Crochet and Wire Crochet.

Her other fiber-related interests include macramé and weaving.
