October’s Guest Speaker, Lily Chin

You first knew her as a designer. Having had her first published design in Woman's Day in 1982 (a crocheted hat and purse set), she's been designing for nearly 25 years. You then knew her as a teacher. She's been giving workshops and classes on knitting and crocheting since 1989. You then knew her as an author. Her books on knitting and crocheting have been out since 1999, 2002 and 2004. She then became a media personality, with over 50 television appearances, including David Letterman, Jane Pauley, CNN, the CBS Early Show, and Martha Stewart.

Now get to know her as a yarn brand. The Lily Chin Signature Collection will be showcased with yarns, shade cards, and patterns on display. A trunk show of garments will also be there. As a bonus, there will be a presentation on crocheted cables as well. Come help celebrate the birth of the first American designer name brand on a yarn label. Hear the story of how Lily came up with pattern ideas for the collection. Feel and touch the yummy and affordable fibers. Maybe even learn a bit about yarn construction!
