Crochet Sightings

Lily Chin at the newest yarn store in Manhattan, Knitty City, located at 208 West 79th street (212-724-9596, Monday, Friday, Saturday 11am-6pm, Thursday 11am-8pm, Sunday 12-5pm, closed Tuesday.). The store is located on the ground floor (street level) and has a ramp inside to enter the store. The store has a bathroom, for those of you who take hours feeling yarn (like I do!). Lily demonstrated her work featured in her books of crocheted, knitted, and beaded items, made in her own line of yarn, of course! She was her usual energetic and humorous self with her audience. Lily also demonstrated her techniques for adding beads to knitted and crocheted items, and the different ways you can achieve this. Also at the store was fellow NYCCG member Linda Gerstein, lending her moral support for Lily (and buying yarn like me!). Knitty City is a well-lit store, with lovely yarns shelved on not-too-high shelves - I am 5’4” and I was just fine reaching on my own. The store also has two tables with chairs in the back, in case you can’t wait to get home to start using your newly purchased yarn. The store has a general friendly feeling, owner Pearl Chin is very helpful, and the staff cheery. I am sure to return there again. For further info, please call them or visit http://www.knittycity.com.

Note: Knitty City is offering a 10% discount for NYCCG members.
