• 9- ½” bone rings
• ½ oz each of 100% Mercerized cotton: Natural (A), Coral (B), and Aqua (C)
• 4- ½” Unfinished Wooden Beads
• Size D Crochet hook

Stitch

Extended Single Crochet (esc): Insert hook in stitch, yo pull up lp, yo pull through 1 lp only, yo pull through 2 lps.

Note: The belt is made with nine motifs. Add or subtract motifs until desired measurement is reached. Always have an odd number of color B and even number of color C motifs.

Instructions

Motif (make 5 with B & 4 with C)

Ch 5

Rnd 1: Join with sl st in ring. Ch 1, 12 esc in ring. Sl st in first esc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc, *ch 4, skip next st, sc into next sc.* Rep from * to * (5 times). Ch 4, sl st in first sc. (6 lps) Fasten off.

Connecting Motifs

First Join

Row 1: Join Color A to any ch-4 sp of B motif with a sl st, 1 esc in lp, ch 2, esc in next lp. Ch 2. Turn

Row 2: Skip first esc, 2 esc in ch 2 sp, esc in last esc. Ch 2. Turn.

Rows 3-5: Rep row 2.

Row 6: Connect to C motif. Ch 1, ch in ch 4 sp of C motif. Esc in next 2 esc of Row 5. In last esc of row 5, (insert hook in stitch, yo pull up lp, yo pull through 1 lp only, insert hook in next ch 4 sp of C motif, yo pull through 2 lps and ch 4 sp). Ch1. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Second Join

Row 1: Skip next loop and Join Color A to next ch 4 sp of C motif with a sl st, 1 esc in lp, ch 2, esc in next lp. Ch 2. Turn

Rows 2-6: Repeat as in First Join.

Repeat Second Join alternating B and C motifs until the end. End with B motif.

Ties for Belt: (Make 2)

Chain 240 (approx 40 ins.)

Weave 1 tie through 2 of the ch 4 sp of last motif, making sure ends are even. Thread 1 bead on each end of tie. Knot in place. Repeat on other end of belt.
